Jimmy Bardgett
Force Protection Representative
Background
Jimmy Bardgett joined the RAF Regiment in 2004, leaving the service in 2012. Jimmy served both in Iraq and Afghanistan in a force protection capacity; it was in Afghanistan where he worked as an FP commander on MERT.
Jimmy became a security consultant working in anti-piracy and close protection before then going to work for the government in the UAE. He now lives on the south coast in Chichester and works as Head of Operations at Tangmere Nurseries, Europe’s largest bell pepper nursery.
“When I reflect on my career in the RAF, it’s my time on MERT that I’m the proudest of. I feel truly blessed to have worked alongside such amazing, brave men and women. I look forward to meeting fellow former and serving MERT colleagues from the different specialisations whom we didn’t get a chance to know whilst on operations.”
